A version of ''VideoGame/Splatoon2'''s HubLevel, Inkopolis Square, washed out of all color, with the tower lobby transformed into a structure called the Spire of Order. In reality, it is a VR simulation created by Marina that she had lost control of, and whose reclamation makes up the story ''Splatoon 3's'' Side Order [[DownloadableContent DLC]].

* InstantAIJustAddWater: What was once a mere programming node like the other residents of the Order Sector has suddeny gained sentience thanks to several of the Memverses collected memories flowing into it. Marina didn't deliberately create Cipher to be this way.

Changed line(s) 256,257 (click to see context) from:

* AmbiguousSituation: To what extent the Parallel Canon ''is'' Agent 4 is somewhat vague. The leader will have the hairstyle of your Agent 4 if you have ''Splatoon 2'' data to import, and unlike the other drones, who drop their entire heads when splatted, the leader only drops a mask. Smollusk's notes for Agent 4's palette implies it used their soul to create the Canon's, but outside of that no one ever aknowledges the resemblance.
* ArtificialHuman: They're constructs just like the other Jelletons, only designed to resemble Inkling's (with one in particular resembling Agent 4). Close insepction of their models show their limbs and tentacles visibly pulse, as if the Inkling body is merely a shell covering a gelatinous inside.

* DuelingPlayerCharacters: The boss is implied to have been created from Agent 4's data, and the leader even uses the appearance of your Inkling character from ''Splatoon 2'' if you have that game's save data, or the default female Inkling from that game otherwise.

Changed line(s) 37 (click to see context) from:

* AmbiguousGender: If you squint and look really hard, you might see some very faint and vague feminine traits (its curved chest, and that its robe sorta resembles a dress), but besides that Cipher's design is too ethereal/inhuman to assign a gender to with any level of confidence. Dialogue is no help, since everyone refers to Cipher as an "it".

Deleted line(s) 39,40 (click to see context) :

* RiddleForTheAges: The game rather notably gives ''absolutely no clue'' as to who/what this person is or where it came from. There's no external information on it, the other characters only acknowledge it in one conversation, where Marina expresses confusion as to who it is since she didn't program any NPC shopkeepers in the Memverse, and Cipher appears to be uninterested in anything other than peddling its wares and giving advice on how to get more Prlz or unlock more of said wares for it to sell.
** A Famitsu interview does shed some light. It's actually one of the Order Sector Zooplankton that, due to an influx of memories absorbed by the Memverse, became sapient and developed a curiosity for knick knacks.

Unlike ''Octo Expansion's'' Agent 3 fights, however, they don't [[TheComputerIsACheatingBastard have access to anything you don't]], making them easy to outfox if you know what you're doing, given a Charger or a Splatling with enough range and auto-aim and you can easily spawncamp them.
